I’m Back and Here’s My Top 5 Movie in 2014

After almost two weeks of no post at all…I finally return 🙂 I came home 4 days ago but I only managed to write a post for my turtle’s blog because I was so busy washing everything from the trip. I will write about my trip on my next post, for now I want to write something with less preparation. First of all, Happy New … Continue reading I’m Back and Here’s My Top 5 Movie in 2014

It’s 2014 now…and while it’s still the first month of the year, I think it’s the perfect time for me to share my Top- 5 Most Memorable Movies and TV Series I Saw in 2013.

Just like in 2012, I didn’t watch much movies than came out in 2013. I didn’t say I didn’t watch movies, watching movies will always be one of my favorite leisure time, but I watched movies from many countries in different released time. So, my top-5 list is from movies (from any year) that I watched in 2013.

Before I begin my list, I want to announce this good news 🙂

Here are the movies I have watched:

Thank you sooooo much Caroline 🙂

I hope you do this event again in 2014. I really like watching different kind of movies.

Here are my top 5 most memorable movies (in alphabetical order)

Coraline

Coraline_posterWhat I like the most about Coraline is how vast the imagination is. It’s a wonder to see many things transformed to another thing and even though I can guess how it might end but throughout but the way to get there is unpredictable. And that is the kind of journey I love. I know I will see this animation again soon. The animation is also amazing, a feast to the eyes. And don’t forget the scoring…Coraline has marvelous scoring and a great closing theme.

Five Favorite Fictional Biopic

Last week, my fellow movie blogger Ruth @ Flixchatter posted a very interesting post…so interesting that I decided to make it into my top-5 post. I was actually preparing another top-5 post but that one can wait. Ruth posted Favorite Fictional Biopic

First, the description of biopic (Wikipedia)

A biographical film, or biopic (abbreviation for biographical motion picture), is a film that dramatizes the life of an actual person or people. Such films show the life of a historical person and the central character’s real name is used. They differ from films “based on a true story” or “historical films” in that they attempt to comprehensively tell a person’s life story or at least the most historically important years of their lives.

The description belongs to real people…however I haven’t seen enough real biopic to come up with five favorite biopic. Fortunately, I have seen many fictional biopic and I have some that I love so much 🙂

Here are my top 5 favorite fictional biopic.

#5 Carrie

Carrie is an interesting character because she is actually NOT a monster. People around her turn her into a monster. The movie is interesting because we get to see the changes in Carrie. Although the movie doesn’t include little Carrie but the book explains how the torment from her mother shapes who she becomes. I hope the new Carrie can portray Carrie from the book like what Sissy Spacek did. Continue reading “Five Favorite Fictional Biopic”

Top 5 Favorite Male Voice/Singer

Back in August 2011, I have written my top 5 female singer, I know I should have followed it with my top 5 male voice but I don’t know why I never written it. When one of my favorite male voices came recently, the idea to write this struck me again. I have heard 3 singers Live and loved it, hoping to hear another one soon, unfortunately I will hear the last one on my list.

I know that my list is not going to be the same with other people because when you talk about best voices, ordinary people and critics have different opinion. Critics will lay down all the techniques in singing and other stuff I don’t understand…For me, beautiful voices are the voices that give you chill when you listen to them sing, especially live ( I know some singers who sound great in CD and failed epicly in live, those kind of singers will never be one of my favorites).

As I have said so many times in my top-5 post, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder…it goes the same to this list. These are men who had captured all my heart with their wonderful voices, and I know they might not capture yours.

I like voice that sounds different to other singers or in other word it has the signature belongs to only singer. The kind of voice that can immediately make me know that that man is the singer.

So…here are my most favorite male singers (no pop singer here, all belong to rock bands)

5 Super Addictive Slow Music

I didn’t do Top 5 post last month because I didn’t have time to do it…I almost didn’t make it this month as well. But there are still few days before March is over…so here’s this month top 5 🙂

Once in a while, there are music that somehow becomes very addictive. Have you ever had that experience?

This month’s Top 5 is about addictive slow music…it can be pop or rock (and because I am not in to pop that much, my list consist of songs from Rock bands…mostly Britpop)

These five songs have some kind of magic that I can’t quite explain, one thing I do know is that these songs enchanted me and made me listen to them over and over and over and over again.

These five songs are in no particular order.

Yuki no ashiato by L’Arc~en~Ciel

It’s hard to describe how I felt the first time I heard this song. It’s the 11th track in KISS (Laruku’s 11th album). When Hyde started singing with his beautiful voice, so slow and so deep…his voice went straight to my heart and then the violin added the beauty of this song. as he started singing in a high and low tone, it captured my heart wholly. I repeated the song so often that I might grew bored at it…but It never made me bored. When I  saw the live video of this song, I literally shed a small tear because the song is really beautiful. It felt so sad but the lyric is not sad at all.

Books I Read in 2012 and My Top 5 Favorite Books

Can’t believe 2012 is about to end. It’s time for my top 5 favorite books I read in 2012 (I feel like I have just done this few months ago).

This year, I didn’t read as much as I used to. The reason is because early this year I was in grief and grief made me unable to imagine things (it even made me stop writing my short stories/flash). I spent more time in watching TVseries and movies because they could make me forget things. Beside that, 2012 has been the year with the most unfinished books….I think it was more than 5 books.

You can see the list of all the books I have read plus the links at PAGE 2 (Only 14 books, 67 graphic novels and 8 short stories)

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Let’s move on to my favorite books in 2012 (I am excluding One Piece because I re-read that manga every year…it’s a routine and it doesn’t seem fair to put it in the list)…Remember, these are my favorite books, it doesn’t mean they are the best books I read in 2012, they are simply the books I enjoy the most. Top 5 Most Beautiful Actresses

Click this button to see my other top-5 list

It’s time for another top 5 post 🙂

I have written about 5 most droolable men twice but I have never once written about the women…shame on me!! It’s a bit different compared to the men, for the women I am going to limit it to actress from around the world.

As I always said in my top 5 post, especially one related to famous people, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder…top 5 always depends on your own preference or taste. These five actresses I have chosen might/most likely NOT your top 5.

Without more introductions, here are the five women I considered as the most beautiful actresses.

#5 Nicole Kidman

I wouldn’t say she is one of my favorite actresses but in my eyes she is one of the most beautiful women on screen. She is so elegant and beautiful. I like seeing how slim she is and look so sophisticated. When I saw her The Others, I was so captivated by her beauty…not just beauty but also the way she brings herself…so ladylike (one thing I can never be 😉 ) Continue reading “Top 5 Most Beautiful Actresses”

5 Favorite TVSeries of All Time

Click this button to see my other top-5 list

Time for another top 5 list 🙂

I have been glued to TV since I was very young…TV-series fascinated me in a way a 2 hour movie can’t. The fun of seeing TV-Series is the fact that we get to understand the characters more and somehow attached to them. Some TV-Series are very easy to make people become addicted while others are more like something to pass time with.

There is more passing time kind of TV-Series out there but only few remain as the addictive ones. Some are made so well but fail in the end. Take example of Supernatural, it could easily be my all time favorite but it crashed and burnt when they started playing with God and Angels, they should just stayed with the devils…really!

I want to start with the honorable mentions first and give short explanation why they aren’t in my top 5…if there is any.

  • Friday the 13th (Wikipedia/IMDB ) was a great series I enjoyed so much, cursed items totally had their charm…but charm didn’t last long.
  • The A Team (Wikipedia/IMDB )WAS actually in my top-5 before I discovered my number 3 in the list 😉
  • MacGyver (Wikipedia/IMDB ) He is one of the reason why I like chemistry 😉
  • Supernatural (Wikipedia/IMDB) as I have said above, I lost interest when they start dealing with Angels and God.
  • The IT Crowd (my own review)

Now…let’s move on to the real list 😉 Continue reading “5 Favorite TVSeries of All Time”

5 Bands/Musicians – Concert – I Want To See Before I Die

Click this button to see my other top-5 list

As I have mentioned it early this month, I will be seeing David Cook concert on July 17…and somehow that post reminds me that I haven’t written 5 concerts I want to see before I die. While the atmosphere is perfect to talk about concert, I hereby present my top 5 concert I want to see plus some honorable mentioned.

I always did a countdown for my top-5 post, but now is an exceptional because I bet you know which band I want to see so bad…They are all over my blog 😉

Here are 5 bands I want to see LIVE before I die:

#1 L’Arc~en~Ciel

I love this band above all bands ever created on earth past, present and most likely future. For the past 10 years, I life in a dream and sort of lost hope that I would ever see them live…maybe if I find a super rich husband who could take me to Japan to see them. I love all their DVD concerts which I have seen over and over again. Thank God, on the 11th year of love, my dream finally came true. Last May, they came and performed incredibly perfect. 5 Men To Drool On Part 2

Click this button to see my other top-5 list

Two years ago (2010) this month, I made a list of 5 men worthy to be drooled upon…basically I was just trying to make a list of famous men I adore physically ;)

As time goes, things changed, the list needed an updated version so bad.

In 2010, my list were: (Click here to see the detail why I chose them)

  1. Keanu Reeves
  2. Hyde
  3. Cillian Murphy
  4. Moriyama Mirai
  5. Nisikido Ryo

Two men are being kicked out of my list this year…I still think of them as my eye candy but not as top 5 anymore 😉 the other three remain but the order is changed.

I have to remind you again that this list is HIGHLY SUBJECTIVE!!! Subjective because beauty is in the eyes of the beholder…and in my eyes these five men are superior above other men 😉

This second part of men to drool on consist of : One charismatic vocalist, One with gorgeous eyes, One with sexy biceps, One azzling Brit and One humble hunk.

Let’s just get on with it …shall we. Continue reading “5 Men To Drool On Part 2”

5 Movies With Beautiful Human-Animal Relationship

Click this button to see my other top-5 list

Last Monday, I posted my review of How To Train Your Dragon and We Bought A Zoo, those movies made me eager to write this top 5 post.

Animals are amazing creatures, they can be extremely wild but at the same time they can also be extremely gentle and loveable. I always love animals since I was a kid. I wanted to have a pet since then but the wish finally came true when I adopted my sweet baby turtle, Kame. I had a cat long time ago but he only stayed for 2 months and then we had to give him away. Kame was my first real pet.

I always know that animals, no matter how wild they are can show love toward their human.

Take a look at this video first. I saw the full documentary years ago. No matter how many times I see it, it always brings tears to my eyes…love between human and animals is so beautiful. Christian was bought by the two gentlemen. They raised him till he was too big for their apartment. For his own good, they returned Christian to Africa. A year later, they missed him and went to Africa…and Christian still recognized them.

I wish someone would make a movie out of this beautiful documentary one day.

As for my own experience, no one I know in real life ever believe me when I told them that my turtles can show me that they love me till I show them Kame’s and Kroten’s video. In their eyes, turtles are not smart enough to show compassion…well, think again guys!

Let’s move on to the top 5 movies that showed beautiful relationship between human and animals. This list is not made because of how good the movie is, it is  made because of how beautiful the relationship isthere are some spoilers here. Happy 4th Gotcha Day Kroten

Today, 4 years ago, she looked at me and I fell in love with her. She taught me that turtles have different personalities. My dear Kroten taught me to love something unconditionally.

Dear Kroten,
Thank you for looking at me right in the eyes four years ago
You have made me fell in love with you

But…Dear Kroten,
You were so distant back there
Sorry for not loving you enough

Dear Kroten,
I have learned to love you despite of your distrust
After all you are who you are

Dear Kroten,
Thank you for finally trusting me
Thank you for loving me in your own way

Dear Kroten,
You have been with me for four years now
Please stay for many years to come
Never leave me so suddenly!!
Promise me!! Continue reading “Happy 4th Gotcha Day Kroten”
