As if I don’t have enough reading challenges already, I now enter 2 more challenges (^^)v
I love reading challenge because I can explore many new books. But I will never let the challenges burden me.
Here are the 2challenges I decided to join.
Once Upon of Time V
I knew about this challenge from Caroline of Beauty is a Sleeping Cat.
At first, I had doubt whether to join or not, I have read my fantasy books earlier this year….but, then I realized something when I was looking at my shelf. I have at least 1 Fantasy book on my shelf.
What is Once Upon of Time challenge?
It is a challenge held by Carl V, the same host of another challenge I am sure I am going to join later this year, The R.I.P Challenge.
For as long as I can remember, fantastical literature has given me that same “curious thrill” that Tolkien references. Fantasy, fairy tales, folklore and mythology are “remote and strange and beautiful”, in part because of the way in which these types or storytelling have their foundation laid firmly in a past so remote that it is hard to truly fathom just how long people have been sitting down across from family, friends, and even strangers telling their own versions of “once upon a time”.
The challenge will run from March 21st through June 20th
I am not sure how many books I will read, therefore I will sign up for The Journey which is at least read 1 book that fits the term Once Upon of Time.
I know I will read more than 1 as I have one book on my shelf, The Little Yokozuna by Wayne Shorey. I have borrowed 1 fantasy Manga, Kanata Kara (From Far Away) by Kyoko Hikawa (thank you Caroline for reminding me about this). And Nick had just sent me his Fantasy Book called The Most Wonderful Fairy Tale. I will also share one of Indonesian most famous folk lore on April 17.
Looking forward to start my journey 🙂
Manga Challenge 2011
As a manga lover since almost 20 years ago…it is impossible for me not to join this challenge.
I love this year’s button 🙂
Why?
Because it has 2 One Piece characters 🙂 the one manga that I LOVE SO MUCH.
The rule of this challenge is VERY SIMPLE…just READ ANY MANGA, no classification at all.
I know I will read more than 1manga for this non challenging challenge;)
One thing for sure, every August I always reread all volumes of One Piece.

Let’s have fun with these 2 new challenges 🙂
I’m so glad you are joining! This will be fun, I’m sure. I knew there must be some fantasy manga somewhere on your shelves or close by. I would love to hear something about Indonesian fairytales as well.
Thank you for convincing me 🙂
Fortunately manga has wide range, just like novel.
I know a lot of Indonesian Folklores but those stories are something we share from generation to generation, I have never read it from any book. Hmmm…Now, I wonder if there is a book about Indonesian folklore somewhere out there.
Once upon a time is my favorte type of story. Can’t wait to read your reviews of those you have chosen. 🙂
I am now postponing my current read, it’s a collection of short story therefore I can stop it anytime I want, to read the manga I have just borrowed. It is about a girl who come to a fantasy world.
I hope you will enjoy the folklore I choose for the upcoming Indonesia Banget 🙂
Yotsubaaaaa! 😀 😀
Yotsuba…kayaknya pernah dgr deh….hmmm
