A Random Blog of Everything I like

Book Blogger Hop – Music

It’s friday and it’s time to hop from one blog to another. Although I admit that I do not hop a lot due to my mobile phone’s limitation. I can only hop to another WP blogs. Blogspot’s blog will have to wait when I have time to go to Warnet. This lovely idea of hopping comes from  Jennifer from Crazy For Books.

This week’s question is very interesting.
Do you listen to music when you read, and if so, what are your favorite reading tunes?

The answer to this question is YES!!. I couldn’t leave my home without my Mp4 player and book. Reading without listening to music will distract my attention. I like reading on the bus and people around me sometimes like to talk and gossip, their words really disturb me and annoyed me. My music is the most effective way to block those voices.

Beside of that reason, I also enjoy music as much as I enjoy books. And the funny thing is, sometime a certain music can become a perfect soundtrack for a book 🙂

I remember reading The Da Vinci Code while listening to Hyde‘s latest album called Faith…and somehow the music sounds so perfect with the story. Now, everytime I heard Faith I always remember The Da Vinci Code.

What kind of tune I listen to? L’Arc~en~Ciel (my most favorite band in the world, I listen to them everyday for the past 9years and never get bored with it), Muse (My 2nd fav band), Different kind of Rock & Metal bands from the 80’s and 90’s…sometimes 60’s like The Beatles, Iro iro na Nihon no Ongaku (many kinds of Japanese Music), and many more.

I never listen to a radio station because when the MC is talking, it will disturb my concentration in reading.

I really do like this question 🙂

I’ll be hoping to see the other’s answer now.

Thank you for coming Laurel 🙂
The words in the book and the words from the MC often mixed together and I can’t focus on my reading.

Hi Novroz. I prefer silence, but I can see how you may be distracted on the bus if you don’t have music.

    Have a nice weekend!

I listen to music at home too… Eyes focusing on the words from the book and ears focusing on the music. I can enjoy both of them at the same time

    Hi Novroz,

I will often listen to music when I’m reading. Like you, I use an MP3 player to block out the noise around me.

However, if I’m at home by myself, then I’ll just have silence. I also find the radio too distracting to listen too – too much blah, blah, blah!

I listen to all kinds of music – everything except heavy metal/thrash or opera (I hate both) when I’m reading.

Hi. Returning your visit from the Hop. L’Arc~en~Ciel … hmm … I think I have some anime songs by them but I don’t quite remember. Not very good at remembering bad, singer or even song names. LOL.

Laruku has 3 or 4 songs for anime 🙂 the latest, if I’m not mistaken, was Daybreak’s bell for Gundam

It’s so funny we wrote about the same kind of experience – you flashing back to The Da Vinci Code with Hyde, me ‘hopping’ back to Middle-Earth when I hear Dogbowl & Kramer.

BTW The only good thing about TDVC as I’m concerned was that it made you look up stuff in books and on the internet (i.e. whether Judas (? I forget which apostle) looks like a woman). Otherwise it was pretty cheap with jokes like a taxi driver asking “Did you mount her?” when the professor is thinking about the woman he just met, while the driver is talking about the Eiffel Tower. Bleeh.

Some songs are fit to some stories :), I have another one I forgot to mention, Radio Head’s album titled In Rainbow is my soundtrack for IT by Stephen King.

I like TDVC because I fell in love with Silas…I really like his character. A pure heart man turned into a monster, fortunately Paul Bettany can potray him very good.

Say something so I know you have read my post, THANK YOU for reading :)
