Note: At first…I only want to share about the DVD but then one amazing moment happens and need to be shared so badly 🙂
Laruku had shared their 20th L’Anniversary World Tour in New York, London and Jakarta. It’s in NHK BSプレミアム.
I let you all see how AMAZING the audience was…this is how a concert supposed to be!! (still feeling a bit disappointed with DC Concert’s Audience) and how awesome L’arc~en~Ciel is. May 2nd will forever be one of the most beautiful nights in my life. I have no regret now.
I am so happy that I was part of this amazing L’Arc~History. I was shot at minute 1:20 … so proud that I was there singing their song with all my heart…just like the tittle of the song: My Heart Draws a Dream that night 🙂
The first time I saw the video…I cried! I am not exaggerating things here…I couldn’t stop my tears from falling down. I had to wipe my tears again and again, it was tears of joy. The memory of May 2nd flooded back in my memory as if everything was happening again in front of me. Every small details were attacking my mind at the same time…crying was the least I could do. I rewatched the video 5 times in a row and still I couldn’t help feeling overwhelmed by how beautiful that night was. Minute 3.34 showed how the audience gave incredible chill…10.000 people were one that night, we were all being united by the words : Yume O Egaku Yo (夢 を 描く よ).
You can see how Hyde enjoyed the ride, he let his voice down at minute 5.09 so that we all could sing this part:
Aa egao no mama no kimi ni aeru to ii na.
Isn’t this an amazing view? No one could ever believe that that was a view of a Concert in Jakarta. 10.000 people united by the love toward the best band in the world (IMO), L’Arc~en~Ciel … and another 7000 people were outside the venue singing along.

I am looking at a bright future from now on 🙂 a future for all Indonesian L’Arc-Addict like me.
As I have mentioned it so many times…I love this amazing band since 11 years ago…however, loving a Japanese band was not an easy thing for any Indonesian. The music Industry seemed to be clueless about the existence of this band.
In 2003, Sony Music Indonesia dared enough to released SMILE…I was happy to know that the album was selling nicely. Too bad the packaging was not good. I have to order mine from Japan because I wanted to have the limited edition.
In 2012…we see bright lights in how Sony Music Indonesia treating L’Arc~en~Ciel. They released the deluxe version of Butterfly (I haven’t reviewed this album yet…will do it next month). I don’t know about the inside but the outside looks EXACTLY like the Japanese edition that I have bought earlier. If the quality is the same as the Japanese one…I don’t have to order their CD from Japan anymore, it’s a good thing for my pocket 😉
To add up to my happiness after seeing them LIVE (it sure was a dream come true), Sony Music Indonesia … FOR THE FIRST TIME … released their Live DVD!! yaaiiiiiii \(^_^)/
When I first heard about the DVD, I was so sad because the box set (Japanese edition) was TOO EXPENSIVE!! I had to let it go. The box set was pretty and I really want it…but the most important thing is I want to see the concert!! It was their 20th L’Anniversary concert.
I had seen part of the concert in WOWOW through downloaded file and through Live Viewing. The WOWOW edition is only showing some songs. The Box-Set was a full version of 20th L’Anniversary Live and I really wanted to see it.
I didn’t expect that Sony Music Indonesia finally decided to released L’Arc~en~Ciel DVD…and it’s the DVD which I can’t afford 🙂
I always bought my DVD from Hongkong or Singapore…so happy I finally can buy it in my own country. Not as good as the box-set but at least I can still see the historical concert 🙂

My only regret is that they put the tax sticker on the back cover and I couldn’t remove it 😦
I hope Sony Music Indonesia will continue releasing L’Arc~en~Ciel’s DVD from now on so that I don’t have to order them from other country anymore 🙂

I really understood your feeling especially after your appearance on the footage! #envysomuch Yup, I can’t wait for the Live Twenity DVD, hiks,,, I don’t know how, but hopefully, on the next live footage made by NHK World, there’s another footage from Jakarta… Quite sad that the “forbidden lover” footage was taken from London and “anata” was taken from MSG, but, at least we got MHDAD…
Really, let’s make promise to watch it together on VIP stage for the next LArukuJKT2!

I wish Anata was Jakarta’s footage because it was amazing! I think the sing-along part was better than this…but still I am happy that they showed a footage that really shows how great the response we have given them…Can you see how Hyde looked so happy?

Next WT, it’s going to be a battle royale to get the VIP and to be able to stand so close to the barrier…but I know I will fight for it so that I can be that close again 🙂

I still remember vividly concerts I went to in the 1980’s. I see no reason that you would forget this one at all, let alone soon.
Wow? from the 80s? I guess my memory of this concert will last that long too. Without the footage it’s already impossible to forget that night. The footage and the posibility of a DVD make it even worse.
If seeing one song already made me cry, I can’t even imagine how feel if it gets into a full DVD.
SMI released the Japanese edition of complete box?!! I’ve been dying to have it since I looked at all Laruku released, but…it really is expensive. T^T

I was once again blown away by the view of us crowds that night. I know that there were 10.000 people but I didn’t know the view would be that AWESOME and GREAT. And when were given the chance to sing the reff, I didn’t know what to say. One things for sure, our voices are damn LOUD! But the epic-est time and memorable part for me is when hyde lowered his voice and let us sing the last line. It’s truly a touching moment. *teary eyes… Always thought that hyde let us sing from Driver’s High but actually it was from MHDAD. LOL. I can;t say anything else but be proud of ourselves. =D
I have a question if you don’t mind since I’m a new fan. You mention that MSI ‘dared enough’ to release a LArc album. I’m wondering why. Please explain. I don’t know the hardships Indonesian Cielers have to go through to finally have their dreams came true and I wish to know. =P
Ah, about the LIVE TWENITY, I don’t know to be happy or quite sad because the day I finally get my hands on my LIVE TWENITY from my friend, this announcement was made in LI. But I decided to be happy because now every Indonesian Cielers can enjoy this DVD.
PS: even though I already have it, I just opened it and haven’t played it once. I’m so afraid it might get scratched. T^T
No…SMI didn’t release the box set. It was in Japan, I dont know whether there is the overseas version of it or not. I am already pleased that SMI finally released Laruku’s DVD even though not the box set.

It was just an extra happiness…the true happiness is everything in that video…the band, the audience, the view…the moment that will linger in our heart and mind FOREVER 🙂

Ah you ordered TWENITY? I actually have owned most the live in that compilation…that’s why I am not too eager to order it…but I will buy the Indonesian version for sure 🙂

Yup, when I first heard about it and the PO has already opened in CDJapan, I asked my friend to buy it for me since I don’t understand online shopping. Since I don’t have any of the live (in physical), I thought that this DVD might be very useful for me; watching various concert from year to year in one DVD. And I can see Laruku’s growth in this DVD. ^^
The other reason of buying this is because I’m afraid that there won’t be any Indonesian version, but thankfully I got the First Press edition, so it kinda pays off. =D

Yup, I didn’t think again, just told my friend and sister, I want that DVD and *poof* everything is done with and I just have to sit tight and wait. It’s worthed though as my first Japanese DVD. ^^

When I first fell in love with them, there were no original stuffs at all. I have to do some piracy.
We were so few back then. I was the only one I know that liked them. Then I found a community…not a huge community at all.
I was happy when I saw their cassettes…but those cassettes weren’t as sold out as western bands. I though it was a gamble to release SMILE…but it turns out, the album was pretty famous here, although it wasn’t their best album at all.
Things were pretty hard at the past, huh? But everything pays off and ended in a happy and satisfied ending. Though this is just the beginning of everything, I bet. =D
So it wasn’t in CD version but cassettes? I’ve never seen one in physical. Everything is CD or DVD now.
Oh I read your comment to TBM. People abroad wanted to see the live in JKT than NY?? I think we really made a blast that attracted the ‘whole world’, ne? =D

I bought cassette but later I found out that they also sold CD. That was the collection of their coupling songs. I bought Smile form Japan and have been buying CD from Japan ever since Smile.

Smile, I bought it from a shop called Kenop. Awake from Gonzo, Kiss and Butterfly from internet, i forgot which online shop. I was using my friend’s paypal, she was the one who dealt with the buying.

Aww! I mean… all hail to the Indonesian fans! The crowd is soo amazing! And even I who’s not an Indonesian nor was there during the concert, my heart is filled with joys too… watching ten thousand happiest fans on earth! And not to be bias but just being honest.. among all fans all over the world Indonesia has my vote for the best of all. 11 years of wait is so impressive! And I bet Indonesia is bound to L’Arc’s souls.
Unfortunate for my dear country, L’Arc seems to be a mysterious band. Although most of the people here love anime and among all the rising of new Japanese bands, still most of them are clueless about L’Arc. They know the openings and despite the popularity of Samurai X here in the country, still some of them don’t know the artist behind Izumi Yu. Sad. Sad as well that we have to buy their albums in other countries. And I wish to blog something like this one of those days. But if all else fails, well.. Indonesia is the perfect place for L’Arc’s Next World Tour! 🙂

When I was there, I knew how great the sound of the fans was…but seeing it again in the video with that view from above is just breathtaking. Even I who was there was awed by it. I really hope that the concert will be in DVD as a full concert not just part of it. I really want to see Driver’s High because Hyde gave us his mic 🙂

Well, it’s Indonesian first DVD, we are still far behind Hongkong and Korea who have been producing L’Arc DVD for many years. Be patience, your time will come 🙂

I do believe every cities should have a change to see L’Arc. I think your serious contender will come from South America, they have a lot of disappointed fans there, L’Arc didn’t visit any cities there because they couldn’t reach an agreement with the promoters….But somehow I am sure they will come next time.
