This is going to be the last post on my L’Arc~en~Ciel Week
The after effect is scary…right now, even after 6 days, I still feel like the concert is still playing in front of my eyes. I am like a girl who finally met her long lost boyfriend but the meeting was only for 2 hours and now he left her again…
The longing to see them again is painful…can’t wait to see them again here
At first I wanted to write it in both English and Indonesian…but I don’t have much time to do it…so I chose to write it in English.
Here are my review/report of the concert I have been waiting for for over 11 years:
-
Konser Laruku (L’Arc~en~Ciel) – 11 Tahun Penantian Yang Tidak Sia-Sia
-
Live Report From L’Arc~en~Ciel Concert in Jakarta (English Version)
I am SOOOO happy that this high expectation of mine was totally paid off. They DID NOT disappointed me at all. Thank you L’Arc~en~Ciel for being a part of my life and for creating beautiful rainbow to fill my daily life.
I and lots of Indonesian cielers feel the same as I am, it is so hard to move on…we feel like part of our mind and soul are still there at Senayan … singing and dancing along with Hyde, Tetsuya, Yuki and Ken. You might think that it’s so stupid and silly but that is exactly how I feel. The memory of May 2nd implanted so deep in my heart that walking away from it feels like a burden.
…but, I know life must go on and that’s why this post is written 🙂
This amazing ride started on November 26th, 2011 when Live Viewing Japan chose us to be one of few countries to play 20th L’Anniversary concert…at that time I wrote it as One Step Closer to a 10 Year Dream. Then on January 2012…It came true!!! They announced Jakarta as one of their destinations during World Tour 2012…for the first time in my life, I believe in that famous sentence: Dreams Do Come True 🙂
What followed afterward were series of posts under the tag of LarukuJKT (we use it as a hashtag in twitter), here are the posts:
- Dreams Do Come True: My Number 1 Band is COMING 🙂
- I Got The TIcket and Otanjoubi Haido-Sama
- Newsflash on L’Arc~en~Ciel: Fast Ticketing, New Album and Live Viewing
- Live Viewing Part 2: Final 20th L’Anniversary in Kyocera Stadium, Osaka
- Songs To Be Expected at L’Arc~en~Ciel Concert, May 2nd.
- Crazy Excitement Toward L’Arc~en~Ciel Concert on May 2
- 20 Hours to The Most Historical Concert in My Life (L’Arc~en~Ciel Concert)
And finally….The Big Day!!!
- Live Report From L’Arc~en~Ciel Concert in Jakarta (English Version)
- Konser Laruku (L’Arc~en~Ciel) – 11 Tahun Penantian Yang Tidak Sia-Sia

Bits around the concert:
As I have mentioned it in 20 Hours to The Most Historical Concert in My Life (L’Arc~en~Ciel Concert) , I am planning to buy some original goodies. Knowing that the queue would be crazy. My friends and I queued up since 11 AM, the selling started at 1 PM. we chose to stand in the blazing heat so that we could enjoy ourselves afterward.

And…. Here are my goodies along with all my memorabilia 🙂
The black towel was a gift for VIP package. I will keep my ticket and the VIP ID in my Larc Moment photo album. What I bought were 1 T-shirt (a bit bigger because the size was for foreigners), 1 eco bag (I love this bag and I should have bought 2), 1 light-stick (It’s not working anymore but I keep it anyway). i changed my cloth with the World Tour T-Shirt straight away.
I also keep 1 white feather, it was a gimmick they shared every time they sang Niji.
Before the concert, Laruku had a rehearsal and some of us tried finding a way to see the rehearsal. I got a glimpse of it from a far. Hyde was only using white sleeveless shirt (it might be the clothes he wore under the black vest he was wearing in the concert) and my dear Yuki was topless….gyaaaaa…..
In my Live Report, I mentioned that I was about 2 meters from the stage. I didn’t take any photo during the concert because I didn’t want to miss a thing. This is a picture of the stage before the concert started.
During the concert, as I have mentioned it in my Live Reports, the audience sang all the songs and made the band happy. Here are what the band thought of us: (from many sources)
- Oishi Masahiro said that the band really enjoyed the concert. Tetchan even said that WE (Jakarta) ARE THE BEST CROWD EVER!!
- Hyde trusted Indonesian audience and that’s why he gave us his mic to sing parts of some songs
- Laruku management was quite surprise knowing that it wall sounded so quite in Indonesia (at that time Suju from Korea was the main topic in TV) but suddenly there were 1.0000 people showed up. The concert was originally set for 7.000 people.
- Around 7.000 people who couldn’t get the ticket were staying outside the venue just to listen to the concert.
- Hyde mentioned “Kita kembali lagi ke Indonesia” (we will come back to Indonesia) TWICE
see Hyde’s happy face at minute 2:04 when he gave the audience a chance to sing
So…the chance of seeing them perform here again is really big … yaaiiii \(^^)/
Look at this photo:
The one sitting down is Dinda, my friend’s sister that I really admire. She can’t stand too long due to her illness, she will pass out if standing too long. Therefore she used wheelchair to the concert. Amazing, isn’t it? Such determination just to see L’Arc~en~Ciel, a band she has loved for years.
I also admire her parents, they let her go despite of her condition. If I was in her condition, you can bet all your money that I would have to fight so damn hard to get the permission and still most likely won’t be permitted. Her parents let her go to the concert and ALL her sister’s friends were there to help her gladly 🙂
In the venue, she was also helped by the nice security (Thank you to all Security members in laruku’s concert. You guys are sooo nice) and L’Arcrew (L’arc~en~Ciel Crew). They straight away built a small stage just for her so that she could enjoy the show just like everybody else.
Last but not least…thank you Peter Harjani and Marygops for having courage to bring L’Arc~en~Ciel to Indonesia when no promoter seemed to believe in them and their loyal fans.
I am going to close this post now. I know I won’t move on anytime soon but at least this blog, Polychrome Interest, is going to move on after this. It will go back to its routine again 🙂
I love you L’Arc~en~Ciel and will always love you. I will wait for your second concert with the same passion I had before…or even more passionate as I had already saw how great you were. Once again, thank you for giving the best night of my life 🙂
じゃあ また ね 皆さん (Jaa mata ne Minna) (^^)/
tasnya lucuu~
wah, keren bgt itu mbak dinda! 🙂
btw, mbak nov yg dibelakangnya yaa~ 😉
Emang!!! makanya nyesel, hrsnya bli 2, 1 disimpen dl smp yg 1nya dah aga2 rusak br d dipk tuh serep 😉
hehehe kyknya De’ Dinda d yg lbh tepat, dia br lulus sma. Iya diriku yg di blakang dia, yg disblh kanan gw kakaknya dinda.
I totally understand he after-show effect. Hyde’s smile is so charming and welcoming and perfect. It seems he has as good a time as you did.
Fortunately, this after effect happens to a lot of people…so I am not completely out of my mind 😉
Yeaaa…I am happy that you see it that way too. All through the concert he was smiling so happy like that.
Gah! I had no idea I let so many typos get past me. Sorry about that.
I’ve been to concerts where the lead singer walked off stage because the audience drowned him out with their singing. Makes me respect Hyde more.
Eh?? such band exist? I wonder who.
That band should never play in Indonesia then…we Indonesians are LOUD in concert. This is the first time I’ve heard a singer walk off just because the audience enjoyed their songs.
Fortunately, Hyde isn’t one of those unusual singers 😉
Sounds like you really enjoyed this experience and you will have memories for the rest of your life. I’m happy to hear that your friend was able to go.
I did…I really enjoyed it 🙂
Can’t believe that tomorrow is one week after the concert…it still feels like last night not a week ago.
I was happy for her too…she is also like me, finding it so hard to move on 😉
As always, it is so delightful to read this and feel the passion you have for your favorite band. It spills out from you with boundless joy. Even if Polychrome Interest moves on to new things, this joy will always be a part of it for us to read. 🙂
I am happy to see that your friends and you were so lucky to be able to share this together. That always makes it even more special.
Thank you Miyuki 🙂
If they ever come near your town…do watch them, I haven’t met anyway feeling disappointed after seeing them even though they are not a fan 😉
I am keeping my widget showing the list of this euphoria till the end of the year 😉
Always love reading your posts. It feels like I have experienced all of this . Luv Larc en ciel so muchhhhhhh >< You are right, we have to move on because they do, so. Just keep them in you heart!
I will always keep the memory in My heart 🙂
I have just finished reliving the concert by seeing ALL fancam in youtube.
Right now, we are trying to get VAMPS to come here…I am not Vamps fan but I want to see Hyde again 😉
hemm ni nama e sakaw laruku..hehe..tp mb in my opinion msh lebih cakep kazuya kamenashi drpd hyde..siap2 dilempar sandal ma mb novi..moga2 g lama lg hyde cs balik ksini y mb!

I’m so happy for you and your friends that you had such a wonderful time – it was great to read all about it and to see the video 🙂
Thanks for sharing this very special time with us 🙂
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
so nice to see you here in my blog Snoopy 🙂
It was surely a night to remember and I am happy to be a part of that memorable night.
LOL Novia.
hahaha this is by far the shortest comment I have ever read, Cas 😉
It’s just funny how much you are in love with this band! 😀 I’m so glad you got to see them live!
The band worth to be in loved with 😉
I want to see more LIVEs now 😀
Amazing, you are still on a cloud… May it stay like this for a long while.
Oh you’re friend Dinda, how nice that she could and how sorry to hear she is so ill.
The concert will not lose its charm in a long time, last Wednesday lots of people relived the concert by watching fan’s recording video.
The blog will move on, I will post my book and movie review soon.
Ah yes, glad she had the best time of her life too. I hope she will get well on the next concert 🙂
It’s nice that you enjoyed the concert so much. I have some friends who love the guys a lot back in high school. I remember that one of them was bummed out when other people saw her picture of Laruku and thought they were f4 (meteor garden guys) who were pretty popular back then :)) I can understand how big the expectation and finally experiencing the dream.
The last concert I came was Train concert, and boy did the crowd went crazy (mostly they are girls). I just don’t know why they came and bought the tickets all the way just to scream and not listen to the music. But I guess Indonesian fans are that dedicated to their favorite musicians, they have pretty big response and excitement.
I know EXACTLY how your friends felt!!
When I went to the airport to see them…yes I did that, I never care about other bands but this one is very special, if possible I want to see them walk in front of me…their timing is close with Suju (a boy-band from Korea) and everyone in the airport assumed that I was there for Suju…I felt like killing anyone who told me that I was at the airport for Suju or at least shout “NOT all females love boy-band!!!!”
Screaming and singing are two different things 😉
I am glad everyone who came into Laruku’s concert were singing not only screaming useless words.
“I am like a girl who finally met her long lost boyfriend but the meeting was only for 2 hours and now he left her again…” Ahah, what an analogy, Nov. Again I’m thrilled you had such a wonderful time at the concert. It’s cool that they were well worth the wait! Hope they’ll come back to Jkt again soon/
Hehehe…that’s how they made me feel 😉
For more than a week I have this ‘ah I wish I can go back to May 2nd’ kind of feeling…and I am not the only one, many fans, both males and females, feel the same. Exactly 1 week after the concert, many of us watch videos by fans as a way to relive that historical day…most fans are people who had been waiting for years just like me.
It is indeed very cool…they really give the best to pay off our years of waiting. I hope so too but maybe not anytime soon as they are going to have another break and do their own solo project. It’s a way to keep them away from boredom from being together with the same people for so many years (20 years is a much longer relationship compare to their own marriage) 😉
“I’m like a girl who has just fell in love with 4 boys but feel like i was waiting them to appear for a long time. Now, I want to meet them so much” ^^
Their last world tour concert in national stadium is on their way and it’s so painful to see them off :(( but as you said they need get rid of boredom. Hope that they will come back with freshness and more power.
@by the way: Do you have yahoo mes or skype, i want to ask u sth about buying ticket overseas and the price of ticket so that i can well prepare 4 the next time 🙂
Yup, the hype will be over soon…all we can do now is wait for the DVD and their return.
unfortunately I dont have both yahoo messanger and Skype. I use Twitter tho…you can ask a lot by using that media 🙂
I read both version of your posts about the concert. Even though I only understand 80% of your words, I can say that your post in Indonesian language have more feeling and passion in it. hahaha.. I even shared the link of your blog with my friends. They said you have described exactly what we had felt on 28th April in Singapore. One of my friend proposed that we should go to Jakarta next time to feel the different atmosphere. I told them that more than 7,000 Indonesia fans could not get the ticket, so we as the outsiders may have a slim chance. huhu.. Furthermore, I don’t think I could stand for the whole day from waiting at outside of the stadium and during the concert. hehehe..
My friend shared Indonesian fancams in fb. I agreed with you that the translator(s) did a great job for MCs. It was enjoyable to listen their experience in your country. I almost didn’t understand what Ken saying, but after I read the subtitles, I finally got what he meant. Hyde MCs: “Kamu senang? Kamu senaaaaaaang? Aku juga. Terima kasih, Kami datang ke Indonesia lagi. Ini lagu terakheeer….” ‘terakhir’ but it sounded like ‘terakher’. haha.. Cute Hyde. Nevertheless, Hyde’s pronunciation is good. In Singapore, he also asked the audience, in English, with very soft and seductive voice, “May I come again?”. Everybody screamed and the fangirls squealed. hahaha.. Lets’ pray together so that they will come again sooner.
Oh.. Tetsuya pretended he was Suju? Hahaha.. Luckily, I did not go to Jakarta concert. I brought my Suju blue glowstick along to Singapore. I also bought a laruku lightstick before the concert started so that I could use both lightsticks to do ‘X’ sign for XXX song as we planned earlier. If I were at Indonesia, I might be bashed by some fans who are anti k-pop. hahaha..
Since Suju is already mentioned here, I can’t help but to compare them with laruku. Not the artists, but in terms of the audience. (Well, we can’t say much. One is a rock band while the other one is an idol group). When I attended Suju concert for the first time in two years ago, I didn’t understand why the fans who were at the front of the stage keep throwing the stuff to Suju members. I thought it was no manners, but later I found out that it was a common thing for them, especially in Korea concert. Suju members also enjoyed and played with the items/ toys given by their fans. Until one incident happened in Shanghai last year, one of the famous Suju members injured because he got hit on his eyes by fan’s LED board. After that, the fans are more careful about this matter. As one of your friend commented earlier, throwing stuff to the artist might be considered as a threat, but I’m glad that the laruku staff took your banner. I hope it can be memento for laruku members =)
For the audience, most of immatured fangirls keep screaming even the Suju members were singing ballad songs. It was inappropriate for me. But in laruku concert in Singapore and Jakarta ( I believe the other countries as well, except for Japan.. hehehe) the fans were singing together. In fact, there are some fans were trying to hit high note with hyde when the band performed difficult songs such as Forbidden Lover and Niji. As you said, it was better to sing along rather than screaming useless words. It could distract other audiences who want to listen to the artist’s vocal.
Heh.. My comments about the concert in Singapore did not give justice for what’s really happened there. You can read the full review in this blog:
http://ameblo.jp/dearttolife/entry-11236444511.html
It also included the setlist and the transcript of MCs. I think it is one of detailed reviews for Singapore’s concert that I ever read.
About the recent concert in last weekend, have you read the report for Yokohama concert? You can check this link. It is an English translation made by L’arc~en~ciel UK Fans Unite.
https://www.facebook.com/notes/larcenciel-uk-fans-unite-english-street-team/translated-report-20th-lanniversary-world-tour-2012-yokohama-nissan-stadium-12th/358313347564268
They also translated The HYDE, and if I’m not mistaken, there are only 2 chapters so far. But I recommend you to read the translation of hyde’s diary when laruku traveled to London for the first time in 1998. How hyde was so cute when he scared of punk and tattooed people when he himself got 2 tattoos several years later. lol..
Lastly, sorry for any bad grammar or bad phrases. I tried to minimize my mistake. hehehe.. I’m too excited to share my stories to you.
Hi Ilina 🙂
First, I need to tell you that your review on Singapore concert is set for Saturday post 🙂
Well, the English one is about the concert while the Indonesian one is about the fans, I guess that’s why it felt more passionate than the English one.
Hahaha can you imagine being there from 9 am till 8 pm under the blazing heat? Even Ken mentioned it again in Yokohama how HOT Jakarta is. I’d do anything to see them up front and personal. I didn’t regret one bit for staying THAT long ina hot venue because I finally got what I wanted, there in front and made sure that Hyde and Tetchan read how I felt about them.
The MC was Hilarious, ken-san (the translator’s name) is an amazing Gaul Japanese who lives in Indonesia…he really made things funnier than just plain MC.
Ha!! Many Laruku’s fans is not Anti K-Pop, although sad to know that there are many Anti Laruku from Korean lover community nowadays (don’t ask me why they did it). Most of Laruku’s fans in Indonesia are mature people, we really don’t care about those Korean boyband. I think the reason why Tetchan said that is because right before Laruku’s concert everyone was talking about Suju and Laruku seemed forgotten. The management was surprised with the fact there were 10.000 ticket sold out (originally set for only 7.000)
Thank you for the link but I have read it 🙂
I read it immediately because Ken mentioned Jakarta in his MC. He was so eager to see girls in Bikini 😉
Don’t worry about the grammar 😉
We are both non-native and mistakes bound to happen.
Thank you for this passionate comment, Ilina 🙂
I’m so speechless with this post. Thank you so much for sharing your DREAM that finally CAME TRUE! I also admire Dinda’s determination. Hoping the “boys/men” would soon drop by our country.
Currently the people here are into KPOP, but that would surely be washed out (at least for a moment 🙂 ) once L’Arc steps in the scene. Specially that the fans here are growing after the anime Fullmetal Alchemist aired last month.
I’m looking forward for more posts and updates from you. It is such a pleasure reading your blog!
You always have a great day!
Spreading the L’Ove
~Kath
🙂
Actually, this isn’t the post I talked bout in the message board, Kath 😉 The one I was talking about is this> https://bokunosekai.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/live-report-on-larcenciel-live-at-singapore-a-guest-post/
…However, I am happy that you found this post. Dinda was really an inspiration. I like how determine she was to see Laruku. Although I heard some people mentioning that she should just stayed home, but most people admired her.
It’s same here, all teenager seem to love KPop, I never like boy-band since the beginning of time and they will never attract me. I sure hope your country will have more Laruku fans in the future, what we have here in Indonesia are the loyal fans who have been fans for years. I rarely found new fans 😉
By the way, I found my photo during the concert…I was singing together and looking at my new found friend, Mae. I was the one with black sleeve waving red light-stick and my banner was still folded under my arm 🙂

and here is me again in, down in the right corner 😉

Have a great day too Kath 🙂
That one! I was looking at it…. and then suddenly my lappy hanged up.. and I lost it.. So I read the other one instead. 🙂 Thanks.
