Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
The book I’m reading now is The Road by Cormac McCarthy, my second postapocalyptic book of this year 🙂 This book will also be my Read The Book and See The Movie Challenge…I’m looking forward to see the movie the minute I finish reading it.
My teaser comes from page 74
This is my child, he said. I wash a dead man’s brain out of his hair. That is my job. Then he wrapped him in the blanket and carried him to the fire
oh goodness what a teaser! is he being literal in washing a dead man’s brain out of his hair???
i have the book to read i just haven’t been brave enough to start it yet….
It is being literal. The father has to shoot a man who is holding his son. Some people eat other people at that time, so he has to protect his son by shooting that man.
The book is not as bloody as Stephen King’s books…so I think it is save for you to read it.
i’ve heard so many great things about this book; i’m going to have to just dive into it! thanks for the teaser and the nudge forward!
I also heard many great things about this book, one of my favorite actors cried reading it…and that drives me to find and read this book.
I hope you’ll enjoy it too 🙂
Which actor was that? 🙂
hehehe…I feel ashamed saying it ;p. He comes from your country 😉
Would I be correct in guessing the letters “C” and “M”? ;D
Hehehe you know me well 😉
By the way…My fantasy movie is up 🙂 I even make a movie poster, very simple. I think my movie pitch is not as good as others…but at least I love the story.
I don’t know if you’ve watched Smallville before, but have you ever noticed how much Tom Welling looks like Cillian Murphy? I used to find that a little unnerving when watching the show!
I watched Smallvile before finding Cillian. Now that I like Cillian a lot…I see some similarity, but Cillian has better facial structure.
I never find Tom interesting to see but fall in love with Cillian straight away. They might look similar but there’s something tom doesn’t have in him 🙂
There must be something in his Irish genes! haha.
hehehe…yeah that must be it, his Irish genes 😉
A very gripping teaser. My TT: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/08/teaser-tuesdays-i-curse-the-river-of-time.html
Wow, that’s a pretty intense teaser. I’ll be back to read your review of it. Hope you enjoy it 🙂
My teaser’s at http://thebookishsnob.blogspot.com
So far…I really like it…but I’m still waiting for the moment that going to make me cry.
Wow what a teaser! may have to add this to my (ever growing) TBR list!!
This is an extremely powerful read.
My teaser this week is quite action packed. It’s from Frostbitten by Kelly Armstrong.
I don’t feel like eating my lunch anymore ;(
Sorry 🙂 but the book is self is not that gory.
🙂 I have my appetite back again!
Have you seen the film adaptation? It’s not bad.
I wonder what will happen to your appetite if you read Stephen King’s Cell…probably, you won’t eat for a week lol 😉
I will watch it after I finished reading it…I will review both book and movie at the same time.
Maybe I’ll “eat my words” ;D
It’ll be interesting to hear what you think of the film adaptation compared to the book – Apparently it doesn’t do the book justice.
“Apparently it doesn’t do the book justice” << I've heard this sentence from so many people…I'm curious about it.
Talking about adaptation, my fantasy movie will be up tomorrow and it's an adaptation…love to know what you think about my movie 😉
Did you make a film? Well done! What did you use to edit it?
Unfortunately…I didn’t make real film, I wish I could…I write my movie pitch for my Hollywood Fantasy Draft.
Oh yeah – Sorry :O How quickly I forgot!
I’m looking forward to reading about it!
Ugh so sad! Great teaser though. Mine is at The Crowded Leaf.
Ooh, I’m going to have to really psych myself up to read this one! But I’ve heard that it’s really worth the effort.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Wonderful teaser! I loved this book.
Here is my Teaser Tuesday: The Tale of Halcyon Crane by Wendy Webb post!
Haven’t read the book yet, but I saw the film, and it gutted me. So good.
Great teaser, by the way. If you’d like, you can check out mine here.
