Blogger Award

Yesterday, Kendall of Reading, Reading and Life presented me this nice award. I felt so honoured by it…Thank you Kendall 🙂

The Rules for the Award are:

  1. Thank the person who gave you this award
  2. Share 7 things about yourself
  3. Pass the award along to 15 who you have recently discovered and who you think fantastic for whatever reasons! (in no particular Order)
  4. Contact the picked and let them know about the award.

So…here are 7 things about my self:

  1. I love my job as a teacher and I don’t want to be anything else but a teacher
  2. To some people, this might sound crazy but I don’t care! I love my turtles (kame and Kroten) like they are my own babies.
  3. I am an all-around Japan fan, meaning that I love everything about Japan (their culture, books, manga, movie, dorama, anime, music, language, etc)
  4. I love writing but I don’t think I have enough creativity to write a full fiction story (I want to but….)
  5. I stuffed everything I like in this blog. There are times when I want it to be more specific…but I can’t do it.
  6. I am a proud L’Arc~en~Ciel and Stephen King addict.
  7. I find blogging way more interesting than any social networking.

Well…that’s all I can say about me that relates to this blog 🙂

THis might seem a bit lazy…but it’s NOT!! Really!!

Somewhere in November, Puss Reboots gave me my 1st award…however, I haven’t got as many friends as I am now, and therefore I’m also passing this award called One Lovely Blog Award to these 15 bloggers

The rule in this award is just to pass it on to ‘new to me blogs’. For me, not all of them are new but all of them are lovely.

Here are the people and their blogs that I find very versatile and lovely 🙂

  1. Bananamolly of Forget Me Not
  2. Ditzunako of Across Dhitz Universe
  3. Dolce Bellezza
  4. Fariz of Vampibots
  5. Gnoe of Grassland
  6. Mee of Bookie Mee
  7. Mel U of The Reading Life
  8. Olive of Movie News First (7 facts about her)
  9. Priska of Purisuka’s Random Reviews
  10. Ronan of Filmplicity (7 facts about him)
  11. Roisin of Roisin Recommendation (7 facts about her)
  12. Ruth of Flixchatter (7 facts about her)
  13. Tanabata of In Spring It Is Dawn.
  14. Taletellerin.

As for the 15th blog:

I give Kendall of Reading, Reading and Life ‘One Lovely Blog Award’

    1. Unfortunately I haven’t read it yet…but It was written by Indonesian writer, so I think it’ll be accurate. It would be easy for him to do his research.

I want to read it…but I’m not sure I want to buy it yet…I rarely buy something unless I already know for sure it was going to be great. I’ll wait for more reviews on it

  1. Thanks for the reference! I find blogging the most interesting aspect of social networking too, probably because it’s another excuse to write as much as I can.

    1. You’re welcome 🙂 all of your blogs are the ones that I always find time to visit.

Although blog can be considered as social networking…but it’s more fun than the ‘normal’ social networking like FB, Friendster and so on. And I guess, as you’ve said, it’s fun because we can write as much as we want to 😉

  2. would you be willing to recommend a couple of Indonesia authors?-like you I do not casually buy a book-there are no public libraries here so I try to be sure I will like it before I buy and I try to read some of the author’s work on line first

    1. I know a book that has been translated into English recently called Rainbow Troop by Andrea Hirata…I love it so much. It was about 9 kids who studied in a very shabby school..all of them have high spirit. Andrea wrote it as a tribute to his teacher. it was half-biography. Reading Rainbow Troop makes me Cry, Smile, and Touched…it was so beautiful.

I haven’t read the translated version yet, but the Indonesian one has beautiful words.

This book instantly made it into my to-be-reread list.

  3. Aaww thanks so much for the award! That’s very nice.
About Buru Quartet that Mel U mentioned, I actually bought the first in the series the last time I went back to Indonesia in February. Before blogging I’d never heard of him before too. Surprise surprise, apparently he’s the most prominent Indonesian writer for people overseas. His book was banned in the country in the 60s. I wrote a bit about it here http://www.meexia.com/bookie/2010/03/mailbox-monday-surprise/

    1. You’re welcome 🙂 Yours and the other 15 are my fav blogger.

Really? wow…good for him. I also knew him from the net. I read in newspaper about an Indonesian writer who writes in English and receive good reviews, but I forgot his name. He writes Adult Fantasy, it has Bee in the book’s title.

Heading to your blog to read what you’ve written about Buru Quartet.

  4. Thank you for thinking of me. I like blogs that have more than ‘just’ book reviews; then, one can learn more about the writer. It’s good to have a glimpse into his/her personal life. Like you, I’m pretty crazy about things Japanese, too!

    1. You’re welcome Bellezza 🙂 You and Tanabata are my favorite Japan-Lover, both of you create such an enjoyable challenge.

It crosses my mind, sometimes, to make ‘just’ movie review or ‘just’ book review or even ‘just’ my life…but I’m too lazy to maintain too many blogs … hehehe that’s why everything is in 1 place ;p

Japan (things Japanese) is really interesting, isn’t it?! I wish I can visit that country one day

  5. Wow… thanks… ^^

    ::excited::

Maybe sometime next week, I’ll try my best to follow-up the rules above since ..sigh.. the past two days was sooo hectic (?). I even don’t know if hectic is the right word for this, tehehehe….

So this award really make up my daaayyy!!! Yaaay….

    \>.</

Btw, I think your blog really deserves both of those awards. Like the others, I also find your blog interesting especially for your reviews and thoughts at J-Ent stuffs.

Do you write fiction too? Wew, if you decide to write it in the future, don't forget to tell me, kay? 😉

PS: anyway, there is something that make me curious, why you put "dhitzuni" as my nickname? ^^

    1. You’re welcome 🙂 it’s really nice to know you and to have someone who share the same interest as I am.

Hehe take your time…I did my 1st award rules months later…as I said above, I finally found interesting bloggers to share it.

      Auw…hontou ni arigatou

Yeah I have a few drafts of fiction…but never finished 😦 shame on me!! After reading King’s On Writing, I want to finish at least one (it is one of my new year’s resolution). You’ll be my first 3 readers 😉

Eh? huahaha I’ve just realized it! I also wrote your link’s name on my side bar as Dhitzuni…hmm I wonder why I did that :/ … gomen ne, I’ll fix it ASAP.

  6. Terima kasih seribu, Nov! That’s ‘thanks a million’ for non-Indo readers 🙂 Wow, I’m so flattered you thought of me, now I feel sooo bad I haven’t even done the meme you tagged me to a while ago (forgive me…)

Btw, next time I go back to Indo, we definitely should meet up! 🙂

    1. Sama2 🙂 … hehehe thanks a million in Bahasa is so unnatural since we hardly say things like that.

Don’t feel bad 🙂 just do it on your own time…no pressure there. I couldn’t agree more, we definitely have to meet and maybe we can watch a movie together and then we can slaughter it or praise it.

      1. Great idea, Nov! Btw, I’m sooo with you on #7. I refuse to be on Facebook, even though apparently I had an account though I’ve probably opened it twice in the last few years. I only blog and tweet (mostly to promote FC), that’s it! Thanks again for picking me, that’ll give me something to blog about for Monday 🙂

        1. Well I am not refusing FB but I onle look at it to check message. I made my FB account because my students asked me to make one…they said ‘so that we can keep in touch miss!’

I love twitter tho, so many information comes from twitter and I can talk all I want…I even link my FB to my twitter, because I am always on twitter and rarely in FB.

          Your welcome 🙂

  7. Thank you so much for this! I always find your blog interesting; I’m into books too, but I don’t read as much now. 😦

I’m with you from point 3 to 7! Hehehe. Maybe my Japan enthusiasm is restricted to animes, mangas and musics; I love their culture and fashion too, but I don’t really follow and update myself on that. I see you are reading Japanese literature, too. Hehe.

I enjoy writing and write about everything in my life in my blog, too. 🙂

I also find blogging much more interesting although I’m pretty active on my other social networks. Hehehe..

I really appreciate this! *hugsss* Well, keep doing what you’re doing! ^^

    1. You’re welcome 🙂 and arigatou. I don’t read as much as I used to either, I use my riding-on-bus time as my reading time because I have a lot of things to do when I am at home.

I read their literature since I became Japan Foundation Library member…I wish one day I can read novel in Japanese, right now my ability is only for reading Manga. (and ken’s twits ;p )

Hehe yeah I can see that your blog is full of your life. I maintain my FB but only for a brief to check messages.

      *hugging back*

  8. Thank you so much Novia for this award. I’m sorry it took me so long to reply to you about it. I am working on my own list of versatile bloggers at the moment and will be posting it soon. Thanks again Novia for thinking of me and for reading my blog, I always enjoy yours.

    1. You’re welcome and forgiven Ronan 🙂

Same here, I always enjoy your blog…simple and to the point…tho I haven’t seen new post lately, maybe it because you are too busy with soccer 😉

  9. Thanks Nov, that really means a lot that you like my blog, especially that you think it is simple and to the point as that is exactly what I was going for. I have to admit that I have not been posting as regularly recently but I will not make any excuses for it (though it may have something to do with the World Cup). Looking forward to blogging and learning more and more each day from kind and interesting bloggers like yourself and rtm.

  10. Reading your 7 things about you, I had to let you know: I used to live 2 blocks away from Stephen Kings house and so I walked by his house all the time to go to the store. He has a great big iron gate and the door of the gate is a big spiderweb. To bad we cant switch places for a day. You could visit Stephen King and I could visit your pretty houses and animals.

    1. You used to live in Maine? If I lived in your house I would knock on his door and have a heart to heart conversation 😉

I have seen a picture of his house in Deviantart, the one taking the picture also lived near his house.

So, you are not in Maine anymore?

      1. No, I don’t like cold weather at all, so I moved south 6 hours away. But he is always around town localy because he shows a lot of support for his local community. If someday you go to Maine I could give you lots of tips. 🙂 He is not like other super rich people.. his house is in a normal suburban area on a historic street.
I still go to Maine sometimes to go camping by the Ocean.

        1. I know 🙂 That’s another reason I like SK more than just his works. Maybe because he didn’t come from rich family so he can stay humble.

In his book On Writing, he mentioned that he was hit by a car while jogging on the street. Jogging all alone without any bodyguard and stuffs.

Aha..If you don’t like cold, you will like Indonesia. It’s so hot here (What can we expect from tropical Islands)
