7 Movie Questions about me

I’ve been reading this meme in everyone’s blog and it’s quite interesting although few of the question is a bit shameful to admit ;p . When I saw Roisin of Sundryandco tagged Ronan of filmplicity, I have a strong feeling I was going to be tagged next … I’m a really good psychic 😉

What is this meme anyway? It’s a seven question about me meme. All I have to do is answering 7 questions related to me and movies.

So…here it goes.

#1 What was your first movie-going experience?

Superman 2, I was still a toddler. I don’t really remember much, my parents wanted to watch the movie and no one to baby-sit us so they took us all to the cinema. That experience made me a movie addict.

#2 How many DVDs do you own?

He he he .*guilty laugh* … I only have 2 original DVDs, The Matrix and Sunshine. I have about 30 original VCDs (haven’t upgraded them to DVD yet) and countless of Pirate DVDs and downloaded files…Sorry!! Plus, I’m more into renting and borrowing than owning.

There are so many reasons for this shameful act. 1) The ones I really want are not available in DVD stores, Imported DVDs are too damn expensive (and I rather use my money to buy imported DVD and CD of  L’Arc en Ciel and Muse). 2) I only want to collect movies that I like THE MOST, if I only like it (of course after seeing it on theater), just watch it on TV (they will run it over and over again) or rent it 3) Most of my pirate DVDs are Dorama (Japanese TV series), I wanted the original DVDs SO BADLY but they don’t show up here and pirate and download are the only source 😦 .

Okay…you may judge me now!! I’m ready.

#3 What is your guilty pleasure movie?

Auch…I really don’t want to answer this!!

….Okay, after much thinking, I think I need to confess and lift this guilty feeling 😉 I hate boyband! Boys who sing and dance are just too much to see…However, I totally enjoy this Dorama called Waterboys, it’s about a group of school boys who has ambition to perform synchronize swimming on their school yearly festival. It was a very educational drama about friendship and determination. They faced a lot of rejections.

Well…ehm..ehm…my guilty pleasure is seeing those young boys dance around in their swimming pants. There! I’ve said it!

#4 You’ve compiled a list of your top 100 movies. Which one didn’t make the cut?

Hmmm….this one is difficult. And right now I’m not in thinking mood, maybe I add it later

#5 Which movie(s) do you compulsively watch over and over again?

I’ve written 8 DVDs I would carry if I was stranded in an isolated desert Island…all those movies are the movie I’ve compulsively watch over and over again. Plus, some Dorama such as Waterboys, Gokusen, GTO, and Orthros no Inu (just seen it but I’m sure I will watch it again and again)

#6 Classics you’re ashamed to admit you haven’t seen?

I haven’t seen Gone With The Wind but I don’t feel ashamed about it, because it’s not my kind of movie. The one that I am ashamed of is Seven Samurai, I like samurai movie but I haven’t seen this legendary movie yet.

#7 What movie posters are hanging in your room?

Right now, NONE!! I never much of a poster person, I don’t even hang poster of my favorite bands. But I do remember hanging The Matrix poster long time ago, the poster was so captivating.

There you go…7 questions about me related to movies, I feel naked now 😉

I’m going to pass this to my fellow Indonesian Ruth of Flixchatter.

I haven’t seen Seven Samurai either, but have ordered it on Amazon. I thought I wouldn’t like Gone With the Wind either, but actually really enjoyed it. I think you might like it too:)
I don’t have any posters on my wall either. The Matrix was a cool one to have though.

Hi Olive 🙂 …Actually I have seen a glimpse of Gone With The Wind, twice. and I always changed the channel because it bored me. Serious love story really not my kind of movie.

A friend of mine has Seven Samurai…but I haven’t seen him lately, I’m planning to borrow it from him.

Yup, the matrix posters aren’t like most movie posters.

    Psychic superpowers! 😉

I really like that Matrix poster. Superman 2 – You probably liked it so much because you’re a psychic superhero!

Roisin you’ve changed your nickname 🙂

Hehehe the power only works on useless things ;p

Unfortunately I can’t remembered the story till I watched it again when I am a bit older. Hmm is there a psychic superhero before?? hehe

It’s a nickname from my second blog, which I’ll be updating more regularly than the “sundryandco” one 🙂

I have a superpower: Clumsiness. I can trip over any object and I have the “ability” to walk into a doorframe, even if there is plenty of room to avoid it. Oh, and I regularly fall up the stairs, instead of down – That surely is a superpower ;D

I like your new blog 🙂 simple but very interesting.

Whoaa I thought I was the clumsiest person I know…it turns out you are clumsier than I am hehe

Your lists always make me smile, I like reading them. Shame on you young lady for being DVD pirate. I bought most of my DVDs at Uni, so I don’t watch most of them anymore, they just sit on the shelf in my living room. I am developing a new collection out of my existing collection and any new ones I get. The Ghibli collection will be the foundation of a new DVD empire, it’s a strong foundation. 🙂

If Roisin’s superpower is clumsiness, mine is ‘leaving stuff on the bus’, though I’m practicing and pretty soon I think I’ll be good at leaving stuff everywhere 😉

What is Uni? If Original DVD (Indonesian Edition) are complete…I would already bought ALL Cillian Murphy’s movies. Unfortunately, I have to put my trust on Pirate DVD. I want to own Ghibli’s origanl DVD too.

What was the worst item you’ve forgotten on the bus? *being noisy and curious*

I don’t mind you being noisy and curious at all, but I think you meant nosy. 😉

Nothing very exciting, mostly hats and day tickets for the bus. One of these days I’ll forget to get off (wait I’ve done that already).

Whua my mind was thinking nosy but my fingers were typing noisy…bad fingers!! 😉

Hmm…I’m worried you are going to forget your wife one of these days…I hope that never happen 😉

If we could only combine our powers of forgetfulness, clumsiness and psychic ability for useless things, imagine the lame superhero trio we could form 😀

Huahaha we will be the new three stoogges (I don’t remember how it spell) … but much better than they were because we are superhero ;p
