Teaser Tuesday: Cage

This week’s read is another J-Literature 🙂 I always borrow 2 novels from Japan Foundation Library and always read them one after the other.

This time, I’m reading a book called Cage by Kenzo Kitakata. So far, it’s full of things to guess, there are still so many mysterious connections.

The main character is Kazuya Kitano who used to be a thug, but now he has been living clean for 5 years. Something draws him back to that ‘dark life’.

My teaser is from page 101:

Their eyes met, and fear flashed in the young guy’s face. Takino stepped forward toward him. Three paces. The guy and his friend turned and ran.

I know it’s 4 sentences, I can’t just cut it into 2…beside, it’s a collection of short sentences 😉

What is Teaser Tuesday?

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of
Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  1. Grab your current read
  2. Open to a random page
  3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  4. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  5. Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

    1. Thank you 🙂

You should try it…I’ve read a lot of interesting stories from Japanese writers. They wrote in a different style to western fiction and it’s a good way to make our read more colorful

  1. It’s great to see some more international literature popping up on here.

There is a book that the teachers here in Korea have been passing around that you might find interesting. It’s called confessions of a Yakuza by Junichi Saga.

Say something so I know you have read my post, THANK YOU for reading :)
