Natsume Yuujinchou

natsume_yuujinchou

I realized that I haven’t done any anime review lately… the reason is because I haven’t found any new interesting anime. Few months ago, my friend promoted Natsume Yuujinchou to me. She likes it so much because her favorite seiyuu, Kamiya Hiroshi, is in this anime.

I like this anime but I wouldn’t call it as my favorite anime. Why? I Because Natsume Yuujinchou is lack of moral, action and excitement…BUT…it is quite enjoyable.

The story is about an orphan boy named Natsume Takashi. Natsume is a special boy, he can see and talk to Youkai (ghost). Being an orphan forces Natsume to move from one house to another house. The story begins when Natsume lives in Fujiwara’s house which is located in his grandma’s village. He then realizes that he got his ability to see youkai from his grandma Natsume Reiko.

Reiko was very famous amongst youkai. It was because she had book of friend (yuujinchou). The book consisted of the names of a lot of youkai. She defeated those youkai and forced them to write their name in her book. Reiko could call them any time she needed them. That important book was forgotten for many years.

Natsume finds it amongst his grandma’s belonging. He learns about the book from a powerful youkai named Madara. Madara is actually looks like a wolf but he disguised himself as a chubby maneki neko and he insists to be called as Sensei. Natsume called him Nyangko sensei. He promises to help Natsume because he wants Natsume’s yuujincho.

Natsume treats the book a bit different than Reiko…instead of using it to summon youkai , he uses it to release those youkai from the contract they had made with Reiko.

The whole series revolves around Natsume, Nyangko sensei and other youkai. Day by day, natsume learns to accept those youkai as his friends.

Like I said before…it isn’t the best anime I had ever seen but it’s enjoyable to watch 🙂 and I always like stories about human and non human relationship.

I just love Nyanko-sensei!^^ You’re right, “Natsume Yuujinchou” is not the best anime, but it has something in. I’ve watched both seasons and I remember, I wanted more.

    [sorry for my English^^’]
