Kafka on The Shore

Finally after almost a week i finally finished reading this book….this is one of many books by HARUKI MURAKAMI..ONE OF JAPAN BEST AUTHOR.

This book is avaiable in JF Library and has been translated in to english n that’s why i review this book by using english IT has two main characters…kafka tamura, a runaway 15 year old boy n tanaka, an old man aroud 60.

Kafka left his house because he feels like one day that house will damage him, his house was in Tokyo and he left that house heading to takamatsu in shikoku. In That place he met Sakura, Oshima #a woman who dress and like to be treated as a man,in the book they always write him as he not she,but he doens’t like woman,he likes man…so he is a female but gay# and miss Saeki #around 50 n work as head of komura library#

Kafka eventually lived n worked in this library… when someone murdered his father, the police started looking for him…and a lot of things happened after that.

Tanaka was a peculiar old man…when he was in kindergaten he had a weird accident n unconcious for about a week…but when he finally woke up he lost all his memories of life,he became uncapable of reading n writing n not too bright. This accident made him able to talk to cats. one day he murdeedr a man that turn out to be kafka’s father…after he killed that man he went to takamatsu. He met hoshino n this young man help him a lot.

This book has a bizzare story…kinda weird n unusual but quite amusing.

This is what was written on the cover of the book :

“The story follows the fortunes of 2 remarkable characters. Kafka runs away from home at fifteen, under the shadow of his father’s dark prophecy. The ageing nakata, tracker of lost cats, who never recovered from a bizzare childhooh accident, find his pleasantly simplified life suddenly turned upside down. Their parallel odisey-as mysterious to them as they are to the reader- are enriched throughout by vivid accomplices and mesmerising dramas. Cats converse with people, fish tumble in storm from the sky, a ghost like pimpdeploys a hegel-spouting girl of the night, a forest harbours soldiers apparantly unaged since WWII. There is a savage killing, but the identity of both victim and killer is a ridle”

Rating : 4 Stars (I really like it)
