3 Perilous Movies: The Machinist, Insidious, and The Grey

I have been pretty busy for R.I.P Challenge. I have 3 movies to share now…although they were actually being watched before I published my post about joining R.I.P challenge. These three movies are for my Peril On Screen. You can see more reviews at the Review Site.

These three movies have different kind of suspense. Two are psychological thriller and one is supernatural thriller. The two psychological thrillers are also different one another, one deals with a man no one had ever seen and the other one deals with beat in the wild.

Let’s just move on to the movie :)

The Machinist (2004)

Director : Brad Anderson
Writer : Scott Kosar
Starring : Christian Bale, Jennifer Jason Leigh, John Sharian, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Michael Ironside.
Rating:
Story: Trevor Reznik (Christian Bale) hadn’t been sleeping for a year and lost weight to a scary degree. He was working as a machinist. One day, he met a man named Ivan who claimed to be as one of the replacement in the factory where Trevor works. The meeting led to a dreadful accident. Trevor was haunted by Ivan.

The Machinist is an amazing movie!! I can’t say much about the story because if you know just the slightest idea of how it is and then you can guess it out from my review…then it won’t be good anymore. The machinist’s greatness lies on the ending and how unpredictable it was. Although I could figure out who Ivan might be but I couldn’t figure out why Ivan showed up. I always enjoy movies where everything was revealed at the end. I give big applause to Scott Kosar for coming up with such story. Read more of this post

Monday Movies: Hulk, Priest and Unknown

In the last 2 weeks, I got a chance to see 3 movies. I know it’s not many but that’s all I can see in my busy hours. I was planning to see 4 movies but one of the DVDS is not working properly. It was a movie by Keanu Reeves (Henry’s Crime), I have to return that DVD soon.

First of all, we, Indonesian movie lovers, are still feeling terribly sad because there are still no new movies in the cinema. All the Harry Potter fans are furious (fortunately I don’t follow that movie anymore)…but I am afraid this matter will be unsolved for a long time. My only concern now is unable to see Tintin and Now (or I’m Mortal or its new title I have forgotten), tho Now is only going to be watched to see Cillian’s face in the big screen. Yes, I can see those movies in DVD but it won’t be the same as watching it in the big screen :(

Enough with the sadness…now, let’s talk about the movies :)

I watched Incredible Hulk in TV and Priest and Unknown in DVD.

Incredible Hulk (2008)

Director: Louis Leterrier
Starring: Edward Norton (Bruce Banner), Liv Tyler (Elizabeth Ross), Tim Roth (Emil Blonsky), and William Hurt (Thaddeus Ross)

Story: It took place after the first Hulk Movie. Bruce was working in Soda Bottling factory in Brazil. He was consulting through the net with Mr. Blue. He was still looking for the cure or the way to get rid of the green monster inside him. Because of a small drop of blood in the bottle, the army could track down where Bruce had been hiding. He decided to come back to US and met both Betty and Mr. Blue. His enemy, apart from Betty’s father, was a creature called abomination. Read more of this post

The A (mazing) Team

I type this review while I was still on the bus…because I like so much!

why am I this excited? Why am I so eager to put this on my blog? It’s because of The A(mazing) Team! It was awesome!

I love movie with great teamwork. The A Team and Mission Impossible are my all time fav for great teamwork TVseries. I was so eager to see MI when they finally made it into theater…BUT Mission Impossible was SHIT! Sorry for the language becausethat is exactly how I felt about MI! They changed a perfect teamwork into a single man action…What were they trying to pull? That was not worth calling it as Mission Impossible…They might as well calling it as the American James Bond. I didn’t bother watching the 2nd n the 3rd MI …its insulting the series.

When the big screen guys decided to turn The A Team into a big screen movie…I pray to God they wont ruin this one up, and thank God I got my wish :)

The A team is made exactly like the series…All characters are true to them self. They behave as they were in the series. The cast are as believable as the series. And to top it all, it is as funny and amazing as the series!

Breakfast On Pluto

Indonesian version << here (soon)

If you live in my country, mark my word when I say British Movie is not as famous as Hollywood movie…then again when you think about it, Hollywood is controlling the world. I’ve come across quite a lot of good British movies lately…maybe because I’ve paid more attention toward that country then I ever before. It’s a shame that British Movies are overshadowed by Hollywood Movies.

I recently fell in love with Cillian Murphy and started looking for his movies, the newest movie (new in term of I just found it not new in term of release date) I watched was Breakfast on Pluto …. I love this movie. I love it so much I decided to write about it in 2 languages, my own native language, Bahasa (Indonesian Language) and English, so that I can promote this movie to everyone in my country and abroad.

Breakfast on Pluto can also be called as Chapters of my Life by Patrick ‘Kitten’ Braden

The story is about the life of a boy or should I say a girl named Patrick Braden, he was left in front of a certain doorstep, which happened to be the house of a Priest. He was then raised by a foster mother. As he grew older, his attitude was no longer of a boy, hw had transformed into a girl…a girl who was trapped in a boy’s body. His foster mammy had tried to make a boy out of her only to realize that that there was nothing she could do.
