The original plan was to write review of When Harry Became Tree, however there are so many interesting news about the one actor I love the most and I decided to postpone the review and shared news of this talented and gorgeous Irishman.

Many movie bloggers have Movie News, like my friend Terrence with his Movie News Monday, since I am not a pure movie blogger, I don’t have Movie News and will never have one as I am too lazy to update news of movies unrelated to people I like…but from now I will have Murphy News section ;)

I used to share Cillian’s news under different titles, such as: Cillian’s next Project; Cillian’s Update; and More awards and Movies. They are such a random title….so Today I officially named all news about this actor with brilliant talent as Murphy News.

Of course Murphy news is part of my Monthly Murphy ;)

Now….let’s begin the news!

Misterman Clip

My favorite site, The Cillian Site, shared a video of Misterman. I am going to remind you a bit of Misterman, it was a one man play staring the one and only Cillian Murphy. He won two theatrical awards for his amazing performance. Read more of this post

Monthly Murphy: Bits on Broken and Red Lights DVD

I – sometime – wonder how long I can keep doing this, I mean there’ll be time where I ran out of things to say about Cillian Murphy…tho I hope it won’t be anytime soon :)

Last month when I wrote about Cillian’s lover on Screen, I only shared half of them and promised to continue this month…however, I have something else to share, something more important and decided to postpone the rest on Cillian’s lady on screen to next year, it will be another Valentine special ;)

This month, I have bits of news on him :)

Broken was premiered in UK on March 8, 2013.

Daniel Clay, the author of Broken, twitted about it on early March. Well, he twitted the poster ;) since it is an independent movie, I am quite sure that not many knows about it :(

My only hope is to see it on DVD because I am 100% sure that it will not be played in Indonesian Cinema :(

Broken

What Tim Roth says about Cillian.

The 51-year-old Reservoir Dogs star explained that while he was surprised by Cillian’s nerves on set, he admired Murphy’s way of thinking.

Roth said: “Cillian is a hard-working and dedicated fellow. Unfortunately he’s ugly which is a problem for him in life,” he joked.

I’ll tell you what’s really interesting about Cillian which I hadn’t suspected. I never thought not just in relation to him but to anyone. He’s a serious stage actor. I have incredible stage fright. It’s awful. Filming holds no fear for me. It’s just where I live. Read more of this post

Since today is valentine, even though I never celebrate valentine (not my custom) but I think it’s a perfect day to share a bit of Cillian Murphy’s love life on screen ;)

I am not going to write long introduction here, just look ate the women (and man) and some of the most romantic quote on his movies (Fortunately….imdb.com has all my favorite quotes, so I don’t have to rewatch all the movies to quote them). You can read my old reviews by clicking the title.

On The Edge

Jonathan: You wanna know the truth? If it’s a matter of life and death between people like you and me, then I want to outlive you. And I want to see what happens to you. ‘Cause I like ya.
Rachel Row: I don’t know.
Jonathan: What if we are still together in a year?
Rachel Row: Would we be?
Jonathan: I can see it happening.
Rachel Row: I don’t know. So do you think you love me?
Jonathan: I know I love you.

Both Jonathan (Cillian) and Rachel (Tricia Vessey) are patients in a mental institution. Jonathan has difficulty to try winning Rachel’s heart.

Broken by Daniel Clay

Broken UK cover image

‘Skunk, Skunk. Wake Up, beautiful darling.’

Archie, my father, holds my hands as he says this. I sense his words rather than hear them.

I also sense his life.

……

Finally, he will sleep and dream that the harsh ringing sound by his bedside is the Royal Hampshire County Hospital phoning to say I am dead. …

Daniel Clay began his book with intriguing paragraphs. Those were the words in Skunk’s mind. From the beginning, we knew that something bad had happened to the little girl named Skunk Cunningham. Skunk took us to the day where it all started. The day when Bob Oswald beat Rick Buckley and turned him into a broken man.

Broken is a story of three family intertwined living close to each other. The Cunningham is basically the most normal out of the three. Archie Cunningham is a single father with two children, Skunk and Jed. His helper named Cerys dated Mike, Skunk’s teacher. The Oswald is the worst out of three. Bob Oswald has 5 daughters, Saraya, Saskia, Susan, Sunrise and Sunset. The Oswald is a trouble maker, the kind of family that everyone in the neighborhood despised the most. The Buckley is actually a normal family too…that is until Bob Oswald beat Rick Buckley…the Buckley is never the same again afterward. Read more of this post

Back in 2011, I have written Top 5 Movies by Cillian which included two parts, one is the movies I love because of the plot and the other is the movies I love because of his amazing performance.

You can read its full post HERE (where I love those movies), but if you only want to know the title of the movies, here they are:

Best Cillian Murphy’s Movies based on the storyline:

  1. Inception
  2. Breakfast on Pluto
  3. 28 Days Later
  4. The Wind That shakes The Barley
  5. Sunshine

Best Cillian Murphy’s Movies based on his brilliant performance:

  1. Breakfast On Pluto
  2. Peacock
  3. The Wind That Shakes The Barley
  4. Disco Pigs
  5. Red Eye

Inspired by a post written by Ruth @ Flixchatter about a movie by her used to be number one actor, Gerry Butler, in which she said So that’s one crush I’m saying good bye to after all these years. Whilst we’re on the topic, which of your movie crush disappointed you this past year?

I haven’t found a movie with Cillian in it that makes me turn my back on Cillian (hopefully that will never happen) because even though I hate the movie, Cillian still looks fabulous and gave his whole heart to act his part. That post makes me want to write this post and also I think it’s not fair if I only wrote Cillian’s best movies and best performance without mentioning Cillian’s Not So Good Movies (as for acting, I still haven’t seen his bad acting yet…he still has perfect acting for me). Cillian’s Upcoming Mini-Series : Peaky Blinders

Click this button to read more about Cillian Murphy

If you are wondering where is Cillian Murphy right now? wondering because you haven’t heard much of him lately….well I am here to tell you about his upcoming project.

Cillian had mentioned in some interviews that he wishes to work in small productions for a while. After his amazing one man show in Misterman, he did Broken. Cillian was nominated for best supporting role at The British Independent Film Awards 2012 but he didn’t win it…fortunately, the movie itself won Best British Independent Film…Congratulation to Rufus Norris (the director), the producers and of course the book writer, Daniel Clay.

Side note: earlier this month, Daniel Clay had kindly shared his opinion about the book being adapted as movie with me :) It was the best post of my blogging life :)

If you miss the interview, you can read it here>An Interview With Daniel Clay.

I am still waiting for the movie to be available for the public (not only for festivals).

Apart from Broken (an Independent movie) , he also plays in TV Mini Series called Peaky Blinders which will be aired in 2013.

I first shared about about his involvement in Peaky Blinders back on August 2012, in a post called Cillian “Antagonist” Murphy. Read more of this post

An Interview With Daniel Clay – The author of Broken

Before you wonder what is this post about, please look at this trailer first!

With nine BIFA nominations (more than any other film this year), including Best Director, Best Film and Most Promising Newcomer for Laurence, Broken is one to look out for. It’ll be out in UK cinemas in spring 2013.

BrokenThat’s my brief introduction of BROKEN, the upcoming movie by Cillian Murphy. Broken was first shown at Cannes 2012 but it will be available for public somewhere in 2013. I have been waiting for this movie since last year.

I am not going to talk much about the movie and what is it about because I am going to let the man who wrote the book (which then becomes the movie) does the talking, Mr Daniel Clay :)

Maybe I should share how I end up with this fabulous interview. On November 6, 2012, I was a bit surprised and delighted at the same time when I saw a name I knew so well (because I have been looking for his book since I knew Cillian will play its adaptation) popped in my pending for approval comment…Daniel Clay, the author of Broken, left a comment on my blog post!! How cool is that? I shouted it out in my twitter before I had the nerve to answer his comment! To be honest, that comment was the highlight of my blogging life. He left his comment here> Musing On Book and Movie : No Movie is Greater Than The Book.

I was so thrilled when he told me he will send me a copy of Broken (yaaaiiii) and do a Q & A. He is such a nice gentleman :)

Now…I really will let Daniel do the talking (or in this case, writing). Hopefully, you will enjoy reading this as much as I do. Read more of this post

Monthly Murphy 2nd Anniversary

Whooaaa…Can’t believe it has already been two years!! 2 years without failing even one month to write about the gorgeous Irishman named Cillian Murphy \(^_^)/

As a celebration for its 2nd year, I have made a new Monthly Murphy badge :)

On the old one, I only highlighted his wonderful blue eyes…now, I use his whole profile. The image is taken from Sunshine, the movie where he looks the gorgeous of all.

New Monthly Murphy Badge

Let’s look back on Monthly Murphy from November 2011 to November 2012:

Although there are only 12 months in a year but I have written 19 posts within that year…the reason is because of His birthday in May where I wrote more than 1 post and when both Retreat and the awful In Time are released almost at the same time. Read more of this post
