An Adventure in Drum Island and a New Crew

To know more about One Piece, click this image :)

I can’t believe my eyes when I looked at my old post about One Piece, the last adventure I wrote here was 2 years ago. I should start writing it all again till it reaches their recent adventure.

Their last adventure was in Little Garden, it was called Little Garden because to two giants living there, the Island was nothing more than a little garden.

The adventure in Drum Island only takes 2 volume as the enemy isn’t strong enough.

After leaving the Island with the help of the two Giants, Burogy and Dorey, they found themselves back on the sea heading to Arabasta to help Princess Vivi stopping the revolution.  But things weren’t as easy as they expected, Nami had high fever, so high she couldn’t move much. Nami kept her illness to herself because she didn’t want to worry Vivi. She read that the rebels was about to start the revolution soon. She must navigate the ship as fast as she could to Arabasta. Annual One Piece Reread 2012

Horay!!! \(^^)/
It’s time for me to do another One Piece Marathon
:)

I never have a set date for rereading One Piece, it just happen when I suddenly feel that ALL the un-read books on my shelf are boring. The minute I finished 20th Century Ghost by Joe Hill (review coming up soon) all I want is only reading my ALL TIME FAVORITE MANGA, One Piece by the great Oda Eiichiro.

Here’s a glimpse of how well accepted One Piece is in the world (From Wikipedia)

One Piece is currently ranked as the best-selling series of all time in manga history. It enjoys a very high readership, with more than 260 million volumes of the series sold by 2011 in Japan. One Piece has received wide critical acclaim from reviewers, primarily for its art, characterization, humor and story.

I tried not to write the same EXACT thing for each my annual reread event….but I would love to share my previous announcement for this event.

It has been 15 years ago since the first Volume of this amazing Manga was released. In Japan, it has reached volume 68, but here in Indonesia it’s only till volume 61 (Volume 62 was released recently, I’ll be visiting book shop soon) Read more of this post

100 Reasons Why I love One Piece – Chapter 1

I have finally finished rereading 59 volumes of the best manga in the world, One Piece. Some people say that One Piece is a crap and this manga is the best or that manga is the best, but for me no matter what people say One Piece is still the best. No other manga managed to make me read it over and over again. No other manga made me hoping that it will never end.

One Piece is the only manga I reread every year, the only manga I hope never ends and the only manga that can keep me more excited as the volume getting longer.

Inspired by Ruth’s 40 reasons why she loves The X Men, I will start writing 100 reasons why I love One Piece. The reasons will include characters and quotes.

Why 100? Because 40 is not enough…and I want this manga to go on and on till volume 100 :)

Writing 100 reasons in 1 single post are impossible …it would be TOO long. For that reason, I will divide these reasons into5 chapters, each chapter consist of 20 reasons.

始めましょう皆さん!!

1. Monkey D Luffy. A crazy and free spirit Captain. Loves adventure and would prefer to sacrifice his life rather than losing his crew.

2.  Roronoa Zoro. A swordsman with great ambition to be the greatest swordsman in the world but willing to sacrifice that ambition out of loyalty to Luffy.

3. Sanji. The coolest member of Mugiwara Kaizoku when he isn’t acting all weird in front of beautiful girls.

4. Tonny Tonny Chopper. The cutest member of Mugiwara Kaizoku. One of my wishes is to have his fluffy doll.

5. Franky. The most hentai (not sure how to translate this to English ) member. He never wears short or pants, always wears underwear. Very sensitive and fast in making something.

Annual One Piece Reread Event – Year 2011

I have been missing several months of my The Amazing World of One Piece monthly post. The reason is quite simple, it is because I restrain my self from rereading the series because I am waiting for this special month…the month where I reread the whole series, from the beginning till the last chapter of this month.

One Piece is a manga series about the power of dream and friendship. I have been rereading the books for years…I have forgotten when I first fell in love with this series, one thing for sure it was after year 2000.

One Piece is written by the talented Eiichiro Oda, he has managed to keep the series away from any trace of boredom. I want this series to go on and on and on till volume 100 and I pray God won’t take Oda-sensei’s life before he finishes the series.

One Piece was first published in August 4, 1997…exactly 14 years ago!! It was published in Weekly Shounen Jump Magazine and up till today it still remains as one of the most look-forward series in the Magazine. I remember reading an article of how so many children who were refugee of Japan Tsunami were sharing 1 magazine to read the newest chapter of One Piece.

Onepiece Gifts

For this month’s The Amazing World of Onepiece I am not going to talk about the world of Onepiece, I am going to talk about things I have received because of my love toward OnePiece…and it is nice to know that my love for Onepiece has made someone remember about me when she saw something Onepiece-related.

One of my favorite Challenges is Hello Japan, where Tanabata of In Spring It Is The Dawn challenges us to write things related to Japan. In June 2010, she challenged us to write about Manga. I was ecstatic about that challenge because I LOVE MANGA. The prize for that month’s challenge was one volume of the manga of your choice. I wrote 3 posts for this challenge. My first encounter with Manga in Hello Manga!, Most Often Cosplayed based on Manga’s Characters, and my top-5 manga in Subarashii Manga.

My joining the challenge is never about winning the prize, it is simply because I love things Japanese…but somehow, I really wanted to win the prize. I want to have Onepiece volume 55, it hadn’t been published in my country yet. And miraculously, I won!! :)

Akuma no Mi Users Part 1

Click the icon to see more posts about One Piece

In the magnificent world of One Piece by Eiichiro Oda, there are a lot of people who have powers beyond ordinary people. They are like superheroes but they are not. If you read Marvels Comic, most heroes got their power from radiation, strange experiment and so on, and there are not many people with power exist.

In One Piece, there are a lot of people that possess great power, and the question is ‘where do they get their power from?’ it is from fruits called Akuma no Mi (悪魔 の み-The devil’s fruit), the one who had eaten the fruit will gain power according to the power inside the fruit. There is a price for eating that fruit, they will get the power but the sea hates those people and won’t allow them to swim, in other word they become weak once they are thrown into the water.

The fruits look like ordinary fruit with spiral around it.

There are 3 families of akuma no mi:

  • Zoan is the animal type. The eater will have the power like an animal and can also change his/her body into animal form. Zoan family is the only one that consist of sub-family (or we can call it as type)
  • Paramecia is the type that absorb into the eater’s body. His body will change into the physical properties of the fruit he/she ate.
  • Logia is the most powerful power because it can transform the body of the eater into elements of nature.

Let’s take a look at those devil’s fruit users, I will list them all one by one. They will be listed based on the order of their appearance. This list of people is from One Piece volume 1 – 23 (until the battle of Arabasta)

One Piece : Then and Now

Read more about One Piece by clicking this icon

Actually, I have prepared a post about akuma no mi users for this month’s The Amazing World of One Piece, but something incredible happens last week that made me delay that post till next month.

Last Wednesday, I read One Piece Chapter 598 and I was so thrill to see the changes in Mugiwara Kaizokudan (Straw-hat Pirate Crews). They have been separated for 2 years, and within those 2 years everyone has endured great training that can increase their fighting ability. Oda-sama hasn’t told us about the changes in their fighting skill yet, but we can see differences in their appearance…and that is what I am going to talk about :) they have changed from kids to adults.

(click the pictures to see it better)

This is a cover from chapter 507, I like to call it Mugiwara Kaizokudan – then

And this is a cover from chapter 598, I like to call it as Mugiwara Kaizokudan – Now
