Do you think any current author is of the same caliber as Dickens, Austen, Bronte, or any of the classic authors? If so, who, and why do you think so? If not, why not? What books from this era might be read 100 years from now?
I’m not going to mention any books here…coz that’s too difficult for me.
I am just going to write about one of few authors that’s going to stand through the test of time.
He is Stephen King!!!
The reason why I think he is going to be remembered is NOT BECAUSE HE IS MY FAVORITE AUTHOR …but because he is the most well-known horror writer in our time. He’s like the rock-star of book industry.
I know that not everyone enjoy Stephen King’s book due to the gruesome death in most of his works…but you have to admit that at least you know about his works!!
And if you look behind his horror stories…you can also find amazing stories on humanity, such as Green Mile and Shawshank.
So…I believe his works will still be read even after 100years from now.
What do you think?
Happy BTT

You do love Stephen King don’t you! I think that’s a fair choice actually, I’m sure he will be remembered.
Hey! What about JK Rowling? or Tolkien? Or even Stephenie Meyer? Their works are phenomenon, right?
*my very first comment regarding your BTT ^_^
I have read only one book by Stephen King!

I am not well-read in King’s novels, but he’s on my list as someone I need to check out just because he’s Stephen King, so perhaps you are right. Here’s my link: http://thecrowdedleaf.wordpress.com/
Whether you like her (Meyer) or not, there’s no denying that she’s going to have a pretty nice life from the saga, not forgetting the movie franchise and stuffs.
But, I do agree on the fact that you can’t compare her to Austen or Bronte or Dickens.
And what about Mr.Grisham?
I also put Stephen King on my list. You can see the full post here.
I think King will be thought of in a more literary light as time passes. He tends to be thought of as thrilling, junk-food reads. I disagree. He is an amazing storyteller and his books have amazing depth.
