We all know that Olympic is held every 4 years and this year – despite of all the protests – The Olympic Game is held on Beijing China. As far as I can remember, I always enjoy Olympic, I watched whatever sport the TV station aired…they all such a big fun to watch!! But 4 years ago (Previous Oympic), none of Indonesian TV station had a heart to air the Olympic…back then – even up to today – I thought Indonesian TV statiosn were such an ass!! I mean, how could none of them air this incredible event?? I admit that it’s not something that most Indonesian like to watch, because most of them prefer watching crappy sinetron, but for God sake Olympic was and is rare event…forget the ratting for once in your life will you!!
Fortunately…this year, one station…The station I have abandoned for many years…has the biggest heart of every stations in this country. TVRI is airing The Olympic nowJ. I give them a big shout of gratitude (^_^)/. Too bad I missed the 1st hour of the Opening Ceremony, it was a breath taking ceremony. The flame ceremony was totally awesome…the best I have ever seen!! A man running in the air was a freakin’ great idea. And the spectacular firework was Amazing with capital A. TVRI is also airing the games from 9am to 12 am and from 3 to 7 pm.

I watched almost every game, but didn’t pay much attention on handball, soccer and boxing. The part that I enjoyed so much was Weightlifting, I loved watching Chen, a girl from China, who able to lift up to 117kg and appeared to be doing it effortless. And then I got so excited watching Road race, especially when a Swiss man able to persue the leading group and ended up with bronze.

The morning session was totally something not to miss. TVRI aired Swimming and Basket Ball. I saw a history in making, the 1st Korean ever to win in world swimming competition. He was amazing, he held on to his position up to the last minute. He won the individual freestyle men, and to add my admiration on Asia, China was standing along side Korean, he got silver. And then Dirk Nowitzki (my fav NBA player) and his German squad took down Angola with more than 20 points. The afternoon session is not too interesting, coz they aired a full soccer game…for me, soccer is so boring. But before that, an interesting match was held, women weightlifting and Lisa was there. She made my expectation of a medal rise but unfortunately she couldn’t lift her weight on her last attempt and ended up in 4th position, without any medal to give. But it’s okay, she has fought till the end (^_^)/.

I didn’t see the afternoon session but I watched every sport they aired on morning session. The most exciting event happened in aquatic centre. 400m Freestyle women was totally awesome, Adlington from Britain won from an American woman who had hold to her 1st position from the start only to be taken away by Adlington on the last second. The same thing happened in 400m Freestyle Relay Men, French was leading the way only to be taken on the last second by USA. Both races were incredible. Because I didn’t have time to watch the afternoon session, so I watched the night session which contain the result of all competitions. And Indonesian people have the right to be happy now, 2 Indonesian lifter had given us 2 bronze (yes, it’s only bronze…but still we have to appreciate every medal they’ve got), they are Triyatno and Eko Yuli. Beside that, another Asian had won in the pool, Kitajima from Japan won the 100 (or 200m) breaststroke men.
